'Canadian Metal In Japan" Compilation CD To Be Distributed This Month

June 6, 2006

Paul Smith, the man behind HeavyMetalMeltdown.com, has teamed up with Cyclone Records to put together a CD collection of 15 metal bands from across Canada spanning genres, from nu-metal to black and death metal.

What makes this disc so unique, besides the exceptional talent, is that it is to be distributed only in Japan as a free gift from the Canadian metal scene. Featuring artwork from "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" by renowned artist Gustave Dore, this CD is presented in a major-release quality package and has been fully mastered to present the best message possible. The disc is a very limited release and will be hand-delivered in Japan by Paul himself during the month of June. Because of the nature of the disc and the limited numbers, this is sure to quickly become a sought after collector's item.

In alphabetical order, the artists are:

ACANTHA - "From the Dirt"
BENEATH THE MASSACRE - "Profitable Killcount"
BEYOND THE NINTH WAVE - "Suicidal Winter"
ECLIPSE ETERNAL - "Heaven's Burning in Hell's Embrace"
ENDLESS CURSE - "Maelstrom"
OBSCURCIS ROMANCIA - "As the Desire of Evil is Unsatisfied"
OPERATION WINTER MIST - "Devine Wind"
RED TIDE - "Prussian Blue"
ROB SPENCER BAND - "Bring the Vengeance"
SEPHYROTH - "The Winter Holocaust"
SPLATTER - "Pusstulio"
SUFFERANCE - "The Rites of Purification"
TEMPERED - "Ill at Ease"
UTLAGR - "Verden"
WOODS OF YPRES - "The Allure of the Earth"

In conjunction with this release is another rare gift. Cyclone Records artists WORMBOX have also kindly contributed a new CD single called "6ixth Extinction" featuring vocals by their new vocalist Derek Hayden. Based on their previously released track "Less Than" from their self-titled debut CD, this version showcases the new direction that Hayden is taking for their upcoming release.
